Speeding Up Bluetooth Mesh

چکیده

Bluetooth has constantly evolved from its cradle in 1997 to the last 5.2 version 2020. With each update and amendment, it gained speed, range, versatility. One of latest introductions was Mesh Profile (BMP) making a technology suitable for wide variety applications. Nevertheless, BMP designed maintain compatibility with 4 devices already deployed market. This imposes some restrictions that place under other competing technologies like Zigbee or Thread terms throughput performance. In this paper we propose two mechanisms overcome these limitations take advantage new extended advertising capabilities introduced 5. These are presented as modifications current protocol stack allow transmission larger data structures. Thus, is possible boost more demanding applications like, example, image transmission. The first proposal an adaptation layer avoid modifying standard form. second makes minimal changes frame structure at different layers enabling user accommodate encapsulations (i.e., tunneling) without incurring IPv6-layer fragmentation. We have analyzed both solutions compared them throughput, delay, energy consumption channel conditions network size. results show except very small messages poor proposals improve delay BMP.

Speeding up the simulation of deformable objects through mesh improvement

We propose a novel mesh optimization approach that is useful for speeding up a simulation of finite elements-based deformable objects. The approach is based on a quality metric derived from the critical simulation time step of explicit time integration schemes (i.e., the stability limit for the integration of dynamic equations). Our mesh smoothing approach consists of a set of small and indepen...

Speeding Up Active Mesh Segmentation by Local Termination of Nodes

This article outlines a procedure for speeding up segmentation of images using active mesh systems. Active meshes and other deformable models are very popular in image segmentation due to their ability to capture weak or missing boundary information; however, where strong edges exist, computations are still done after mesh nodes have settled on the boundary. This can lead to extra computational...

Bluetooth Mesh Network Protocol

Paper deals with simple and efficient protocols for forming and maintaining a Bluetooth network. The protocols are designed for mobile situations with frequent topology changes and for routing of translated messages between Bluetooth network members. To provide a simple, distributed solution to form an ad hoc network the protocols are based on a set of rules. The resulting topology is a mesh ne...

Speeding up snakes

In this paper we summarize new and existing approaches for the semiautomatic image segmentation based on active contour models. In order to replace the manual segmentation of images of the medical research of the Center of Anatomy at the Georg August University of Göttingen we developed a user interface based on snakes. Due to the huge images (sometimes bigger than 100 megapixels) the research ...

Speeding up Dynamic Programming

A number of important computational problems in molecular biology, geology, speech recognition, and other areas, can be expressed as recurrences which have typically been solved with dynamic programming. By using more sophisticated data structures, and by taking advantage of further structure from the applications, we speed up the computation of several of these recurrences by one or two orders...
